Covington Association of Realtors received its charter from the Alabama Association of Realtors in 1987. A group of local Real Estate professionals from all areas of Covington County came together to establish our local association (CAR) and join the National Association of Realtors thereby allowing them to use the REALTORS® logo ” This logo stands for what our local real estate professionals have always stood for, a highly professional standard of service to our customers and clients. Our Association also follows a strict Code of Ethics set out by the National Association of Realtors ensuring that the standard of practice of all REALTORS® is at the highest level possible and protects the public. Membership in our Association allows all local real estate agents to work together to get a property sold. Our information is put into a common database (Multiple Listing System –MLS) and shared with all members. Any member of CAR can show any property listed by any of our members. By sharing information, our members are better equipped to serve our customers and clients.
Our Association has grown over the years and members have worked diligently to keep up with the ever-changing real estate market and to implement the latest technology available to our industry. Safety and security of our customers and clients has always been most important to our members. Technology has made that job so much easier. You will see latest technology electronic lockboxes on doors of listed homes that gives the seller immediate information of who went into their home as well as provides immediate feedback to the agent. These lockboxes can be turned on to allow access during certain hours or turned off for extra security when a seller doesn’t want anyone in the home, all while keeping the key safe. We have the latest in real estate apps that are available to our customers and clients allowing a customized search to be sent to their phone or tablet with available properties that meet their criteria.
From 1987 to present day and into the future, CAR will continue to strive to be the absolute best real estate professionals serving our customers and clients in Covington County and surrounding areas.
